Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia's $9 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $100 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Improving plant industry access to new germplasm using next generation sequencing (MT18005).
The objectives of the services being sought are to test and implement a reliable, high throughput next generation sequencing capability within the point of entry process for imported horticultural plant products to:
• Ensure reduction in the time that imported plant material spends in post entry quarantine
• Provide more robust and reliable detection of exotic plant pathogens
• Ensure industries gain faster, safer and cost effective access to new imported germplasm.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties. The closing date for responses is 5.00pm (AEDT), Wednesday 31 October, 2018.
