Request for Proposal: Extension strategy for the Australian vegetable industry
Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia's $13.2 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $110 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Extension strategy for the Australian vegetable industry (VG18003).
An extension strategy for the Australian vegetable industry will contribute to Outcome 5 of the Vegetable Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) 2017-2021 - Improved industry capabilities for innovation and adoption and will have a significant influence on investment in Strategy 5.1 - Communication and extension. Outcome 5 is critical for the achievement of all other outcomes. The SIP is available at:
https://horticulture.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/HortInnovation-SIP-Vegetable2017-2021.pdf
The objectives of the services are:
• To scope the extension needs of the vegetable industry and develop an extension strategy for addressing these for a 5-year period from 1 July 2020. The strategy needs to be based on extension theory and best practice and increase the reach of the vegetable R&D program and enhance the adoption of R&D outcomes.
• Develop an associated plan for implementation of the extension strategy for a 5-year period from 1 July 2020. The implementation plan will need to provide an efficient approach to national delivery of extension services, whilst ensuring that local extension needs are addressed. It should build upon VegNET outcomes and seek to leverage existing R&D investments.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties. The RFP may be downloaded from www.tenders.net (you will need to be a member of tenders.net to access this information).
The closing date for responses is 5.00pm (AEST), 7 June 2019.
