Request for Proposal: National biosecurity and sustainable plant production program (NY20001)
Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $14.4 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $110 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: National biosecurity and sustainable plant production program (NY20001).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Mature the alignment of the nursery industry to national biosecurity and sustainability objectives through continued participation in key national strategic bodies
• Ensure that future industry needs are met around biosecurity, market access, water and energy security, and domestic and international trade.
• Fulfil industry obligations under the Emergency Plant Pest Response Deed
• Ensure consistent improvement and best management practice in the nursery industry to facilitate trade, increase productivity and profitability and to provide high quality plants to Australia’s plant-based industries
• Establish a communications strategy for the nursery industry that informs, guides and alerts levy payers to important and emerging issues including biosecurity risks and opportunities to improve cropping systems
• Implement a succession plan for the program secure future human resources and to ensure that program knowledge is maintained in perpetuity.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
