Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Educating the food industry about Australian Mushrooms (MU20003).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• To educate chefs and key influencers in the food industry on Australian mushrooms, through a long- term strategic program.
• Educate food industry professionals about the health benefits and culinary uses of Australian mushrooms through a program of activities that are informed by credible science.
• Increase food industry knowledge about the role of mushrooms in disease prevention and management
Develop content for the Australian Mushrooms website and other websites eg. The Good Mood Food.
• Educate and build engagement with food industry professionals via conferences, events and workshops
Position mushrooms with food industry professionals as an important component of a healthy diet and showcase their unique value proposition in contributing to diets across the globe by supporting health and wellness, particularly as consumers move towards plant- based eating patterns.
• Stay abreast of new developments in mushroom human nutrition clinical trials from around the world and ensure results are appropriately communicated in Australia.
This educating the food industry investment will be run in parallel with project: VN20002 - Onion nutrition education program for health professionals and the food service industry. Whilst these projects will be awarded separately, Hort Innovation will look for efficiencies if potential delivery partners respond to both.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
The RFP may be downloaded from www.tenders.net (you will need to be a member of tenders.net to access this information).
The closing date for responses is 7/06/2021 5:00 PM (AEST).
