Request for Proposal: Desktop review of pathway risks for the mushroom industry – Agaricus mushrooms and growth substrate imports (MU21002).
Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Desktop review of pathway risks for the mushroom industry – Agaricus mushrooms and growth substrate imports (MU21002).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Determine the biosecurity risks to Agaricus mushroom production that are associated with imports of non-Agaricus mushrooms/fungi, including any associated growing media
• Determine the level of biosecurity risk posed by imported, processed (e.g., dried, frozen) Agaricus mushrooms
• Determine the level of biosecurity risk, if any, associated with imported mushroom casing (peat) that could cause a supply disruption.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
