Request for Proposal: Identification and management of a fungal disease complex in melons (VM22001)
Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned research and development corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and capable delivery partner for the project: Identification and management of a fungal disease complex in melons (VM22001).
This project will primarily address the flowing key objectives:
• Identify the whole range of pathogens associated with diseases in melons.
• Characterise sources of infection and the epidemiology of the key diseases across major melon growing areas of Australia.
• Characterise the key biotic and abiotic factors influencing the development of diseases in melons.
• Undertake random sampling, with sufficient coverage, throughout the season to detect potential exotic disease incursions.
• Deliver project outcomes to the melon industry through existing industry networks, industry meetings and farm visits.
• Provide growers with a robust disease management strategy to minimise the impact of melon fungal diseases.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
