Request for Proposal: Landscape approach to improve Australian horticultural preparedness and resilience to agri-pest challenges (BY22003)
Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned research and development corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and capable delivery partner for the project: Landscape approach to improve Australian horticultural preparedness and resilience to agri-pest challenges (BY22003).
The objectives of the services being sought are to work with industry to:
• Develop and use innovative landscape-based pest management systems using a specific region(s) as a case study.
• Review and assess the extension resources and capabilities within the selected study region identifying potential opportunities and gaps.
• Develop a risk matrix for a range of pests and crops indicating industry preparedness and potential gaps in management, extension, and adoption.
• Explore partnerships with relevant indigenous groups to incorporate First Nations knowledge and experience in managing areas on a landscape scale.
• Develop and use an electronic platform that integrates plant protection information at a landscape level
• Develop and use a model that integrates information on a landscape level to derive innovation in decision-making and management of key pests.
• Report on the benefits of industry through their involvement in developing landscape-based pest management systems and their subsequent application of the system in their management decisions.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
