Expression of Interest: Frontiers investment program: Australian grown innovation (AS24001)
Hort Innovation is the not-for-profit, grower-owned research and development corporation for Australia’s $17.2 billion horticulture industry. We invest more than $120M per year in research and development, marketing and trade activities to build a prosperous and sustainable future for growers.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced, and capable delivery partner to express interest in the project: Frontiers investment program: Australian grown innovation (AS24001).
This program aims to inspire and mentor Australian growers to explore, grow and accelerate the development of their innovations, pressure test new business models and prospect for innovation globally.
The program may include two key components including:
1. A mentorship program to guide participants through the process of validating their ideas, developing a proof of concept, and where applicable, opening channels to industry for testing, exposure and further review. The program will also seek to connect participants with existing products and services as part of the program.
2. A global innovation immersion program enabling growers to travel abroad, meet innovative business leaders, access state of the art solution providers and attend key events relative to their exploration.
The key objectives of the Australian Grown Innovation program are to:
1. Drive a prosperous and sustainable Australian horticulture industry built on innovation.
2. Promote entrepreneurial thinking within the Australian Horticultural community as a means to accelerating disruptive ideas and future focused thinking.
3. Foster innovation across the value chain and provide growers with the tools to turn their ideas into new income streams or outright businesses.
4. Leverage the vast experience and knowhow residing within the global Agrifoodtech ecosystem.
