Request for Proposal: Enhancing avocado quality by reducing lenticel damage (AV24005)
Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $16.3 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $154 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Enhancing avocado quality by reducing lenticel damage (AV24005).
The objectives of the services being sought are to:
• Enhance avocado industry practices by improving knowledge and minimising lenticel damage during harvesting.
• Update, if appropriate, tools and techniques to minimise lenticel damage based on new knowledge.
• Enhance industry practices for better fruit quality and market competitiveness.
• Collaborate with growers and avocado extension programs to implement findings in real-world scenarios and across regions.
• Understand whether there is a correlation between lenticel damage and rots.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
