Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $9 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $100 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.

Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Summerfruit - China export facilitation (SF17002).

The objectives of the services being sought are to help Hort Innovation to ensure the export readiness of the summerfruit industry for export to China by:
• Provide input into Hort Innovation’s market development programmes with respect to China
• Assisting project SF17000 in facilitating the logistics and providing assistance to enable the Department’s registration and audit of export facilities with respect to exports to China
• Provide a point of expert industry advice and responsibility for preparing growers and exporters to export successfully to China acting as primary point of contact, and responding to exporter requests:
o Assistance with entry-clearance procedures
o Liaison with retailers buyer importers
o Liaison with quarantine and port officials
o Support for resolving ad-hoc operational trade issues
• Provide advice to other stakeholders, including Hort Innovation, the Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, Austrade and state agencies
• Liaison with Department of Agriculture and Water Resources and Hort Innovation on China technical and protocol implementation issues as necessary
• Close coordination with the primary service provider for project 'Summerfruit export readiness and market access' (SF17000), particularly focused on:
o input into the China components of the annual industry work-plan
o assistance with developing grower/exporter training materials
o registration and audit of export facilities for exports to China
o input into the development of Export Quality Standards
o input into the maintenance of the industry Export Strategy
• Working collaboratively with other horticulture sectors.
