Hort Innovation is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $15.1 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $120 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable delivery partner for the project: Health and nutrition education program for the berry industry (MT21000).
The objectives of the services are to assist Hort Innovation:
• To develop a nutrition education program targeting health professionals to raise awareness of the nutritional attributes of Australian berries and drive demand.
• Position berries with health professionals as an important component of a healthy diet and showcase their unique value proposition in contributing to diets across the globe by supporting health and wellness, particularly as consumers become more interested in plant-based eating patterns.
• Increase health professional knowledge about the role of berries in disease prevention and management through a program of activities that are informed by credible science.
• Stay abreast of new developments in clinical trials from around the world and ensure results are appropriately communicated in Australia.
This program will be delivered using a four-tiered approach:
1. A literature review of the latest nutrition science in berries (update from previous reports such as the 2016 Health and Nutrition Overview report for raspberries and blackberries).
2. Nutrition educational resources developed and housed online on the Berries Australia website and disseminated to influential health professionals, for example, fact sheets, infographics, videos, webinars and other resources.
3. Expert roundtables, conference exhibiting and other health professional engagement events.
4. Farm tours for influential health professionals in order understand how berries are grown, meet the growers and learn about the story from farm to fork.
Hort Innovation has prepared a Request for Proposal (RFP) document that provides background information, outlines the scope of services, the procurement process and the information required from interested parties.
The RFP may be downloaded from www.tenders.net (you will need to be a member of tenders.net to access this information).
The closing date for responses is (AEST) 5:00 PM, 23 June 2021.
