Horticulture Innovation Australia (Hort Innovation) is a not-for-profit, grower-owned Research and Development Corporation (RDC) for Australia’s $17 billion horticulture industry. Hort Innovation invests around $170 million in research and development (R&D) and marketing programs annually to provide benefit to industry and the wider community.
Hort Innovation is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and capable variety managers to manage the international commercial license for the sub-tropical, temperate and novelty strawberry varieties developed by Hort Innovation and the Queensland State Government Department of Primary Industries (DPI).
The objectives of the commercial license are to help Hort Innovation and the Queensland State Government Department of Primary Industries to:
• facilitate, manage and support the commercialisation of Australian Strawberry Breeding Program strawberry varieties in selected international territory/s
• promote the adoption of Australian Strawberry Breeding Program varieties amongst growers in the selected international territory/s
• market and promote the Australian Strawberry Breeding Program varieties to consumers in the selected international territory/s
Hort Innovation has prepared an Expression of Interest (EOI) document that provides background information, license information, the EOI process and the information required from interested parties.

The closing date for responses is 30 January, 2026, 3.00 pm (AEDT)
