Background:
Western Downs Regional Council (Council) has recently received Federal Government funding to implement a Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) camera network in the township of Chinchilla. The Chinchilla CBD CCTV Project will be delivered within the primary retail/commercial precinct of Chinchilla, located on the Warrego Highway approximately four hours west of Brisbane and one hour west of Dalby.
The Chinchilla CBD CCTV services will be supported by strategically placed cameras focusing on the Chinchilla CBD focused on Heeney Street, from Railway Street through to the Chinchilla RSL, between Middle Street and Hypatia Street. The proposed service is designed to reduce the incidence of anti-social behaviour in the township whilst also reducing the reliance on existing retail business cameras to support Queensland Police Services with their investigations.
The primary aim of this tender is to select a suitable partner for the installation of the Chinchilla CBD CCTV service. Additional tasks include seeking a partner to assist with the ongoing management of the physical hardware and also assist with some relocations of existing services.
