Background:
The Waterloo Plains Park is situated in the Western Downs community of Wandoan. It is within proximity to the Main Street & the Wandoan State School and is a popular stop for caravanners and visitors to the town.
Waterloo Plains is an 11-hectare wetlands park and contains habitat for birdlife and native species and endemic vegetation. There is a self-guided trail with bridge crossings and walkways to access the park and wetland environment.
There are limited facilities on-site, including picnic tables, toilets and bins; however, the site has large open areas which could be developed into multi-use spaces, and further facilities would increase use.
The wetlands water level has seasonal fluctuations which affect habitat and securing more water for the site would have a significant impact on the wetland environment.
The tender price sought is of a lump sum basis, as detailed in the returnable schedules below, to provide all material and equipment and carry out all works to achieve the desired scope and design of the masterplan.
The returnable schedules attached to this document are required to be submitted with the tender to provide sufficient details of the project construction.
Upon completion of the project, there will be a period that includes the establishment of the project landscaping as well as a defect liability period. It is anticipated that the tenderer includes this period and the requirements thereof, within their tender submission.
The use of native and local species of plans is preferred, any substitutions away from the desired species must be noted and advised within the tender documents.
