Background
The township of Miles is located close to the Western boundary of the Western Downs Regional and is situated on the crossroads of the Leichhardt Highway and Warrego Highway.
The Miles Visitor Information Centre (VIC) and Miles Historical Village Museum (MHVM) are both located at 141 Murilla Street, Miles (Project Location) and share a facility at this location.
The Museum:-
Developed as a pioneer settlement with a village street to portray the workings of an early Queensland rural town, the Village is recognised as being the best of its type in Queensland. The grounds contain 34 buildings of which 15 are historic structures relocated from the local area; 10 are replica buildings and 9 are purpose-built.
The Visitor Information Centre:-
The Visitor Information Centre (VIC) is one of three accredited Visitor Information Centres within Western Downs and serves as an important hub of information for locals and visitors alike.
Western Downs Regional Council (WDRC) identified the need to undertake facility upgrade works at the Miles Visitor Information Centre/ Miles Historical Village Museum precinct. As a result, a detailed design was developed, and this will form the structure of these works.

The purpose of this project is to stimulate local economy and industry by way of the use of local materials and services.
Note : This tender has been separated into two (2) separable portions being Building Works (A) and Landscaping (B). Western Downs Regional Council encourage interested parties to submit confirming tenders for one or both of these projects.
