Background:
Council operates the Dalby Regional Saleyards, a business that in 2021-22 financial year had a turnover of in excess of $300 million. It requires a software system to manage livestock as they enter, are drafted, sold, weighed and trucked from the facility.
This system is needed to support the Saleyards to run the sale as well as maintain its Quality Assurance accreditation, compliance with biosecurity requirements such as capturing and issuing of movement records, and the transfer of data to and from the National Livestock Identification Database.
On 27 June 2019 Council executed a Licence Agreement for provision of software services and licence for Dalby Saleyards Services with Belvoir Information Technology for a term of three years with two, one-year extensions. The final extension of this contract will expire on 30 June 2024.
The project aims to review the current Saleyards Software and if required, complete licensing and provision of a new saleyards livestock management software program that caters to livestock movements throughout their time at the saleyards
