Background:
The Dalby Aerodrome is located 1.2km north of the Dalby Town Centre and is a Non-Certified Aircraft Landing Area (ALA). Dalby Aerodrome is the busiest airfield in the Western Downs Region being mostly used by small light aircraft for both training and private use as well as a high volume of agricultural aviation activity. The aerodrome also sees regular visits by emergency services and daily air freight services. It is currently servicing 12 separate tenancies for various use from aircrafts to agriculture. Council are now looking to extend another 5 lease sites.
Vision:
Western Downs Regional Council's vision for the Dalby Aerodrome is to expand the area available for leasing to keep up with the demand of aviation within the Western Downs region. This will bring more people and businesses through the area and have potential to increase the towns influx of tourism.
