Background:
Waterloo Plains features a human-made lake with island, picnic areas, toilets, and camping facilities. A Masterplan for the park was created in 2020 with Stage 1 of upgrade works being completed in 2021. Stage 2 works are planned for construction this financial year.
The Waterloo Plain Environmental Park Upgrades – Stage 2 is set to revitalise the community park to improve safety, accessibility and encourage community members for social and physical activity. The project will include new recreational and social infrastructure.
An Aboriginal Cultural Heritage Assessment Report has been completed. This Assessment provided details about the potential for the land to contain Aboriginal Cultural heritage and the protocol to be taken in the event significant items are discovered.
