RFT000066 ICT Server Room Infrastructure Upgrade Project
Background:
Western Downs Regional Council’s (WDRC) current ICT server infrastructure and on-site backup systems are approaching their end-of-support date as of March 2025. This milestone signifies that these systems will no longer receive technical support, resulting in increased maintenance costs and potential reliability issues. Furthermore, the lack of critical security updates poses significant risks to the reliability and security of our IT infrastructure that underpin Council's operations.
WDRC invites tenders for the supply of hardware to replace six servers as specified in Returnable Schedule 2. The current environment is adequately sized and is not experiencing any performance issues related to capacity constraints. WDRC does not foresee significant growth in the cluster’s workload in the near future. Additionally, there are plans to transition some existing infrastructure applications and/or infrastructure to Software as a Service (SaaS) applications later this year, which will further reduce the cluster’s workload.
