REQUEST FOR TENDERS
Western Downs Regional Council invites tenders for the following project:
Reference Number MM18-16-17 Chinchilla Works Depot Construction

Tenders must be received by the closing time of 2.30pm 1 December, 2016. Submissions received after the closing time may be deemed invalid.
Council may invite tenderers to change their tenders in accordance with the provision of Section 228 (7) of the Local Government Regulation 2012. Council reserves the right to accept any submission in whole or part and the right not to accept the lowest or all submissions.

Background
Council recently purchased a property at 226 Aerodrome Road (6/SP168212) which it intends to convert into a Works Depot. Currently sited on the 11.35 ha block is a 2520m2 farm shed which will be converted to house the functions of the works depot. The shed that will be redeveloped is single level steel portal frame structure with a steel sheet roof, slab on ground floor with formed concrete walls between the steel columns. The shed is approximately 110m long, 25m wide and 5m high at the eaves with a low pitched roof of approximately 3 degrees. Major items of the work include:
- Retrofitting of the shed to provide a workshop, offices, training room, stores and gang areas as well as ancillary facilities;
- Construction and fit out of a wash down bay;
- Supply and installation of a diesel tank;
- Supply and installation of a bitumen emulsion tank;
- Installation of firefighting systems;
- Minor structures;
- Fencing.
Council's objective is to engage a Contractor with extensive, recent experienced on similar projects. A compulsory site meeting will be held on 17 November from 11am till 1pm onsite at 226 Aerodrome Road Chinchilla for all interested parties.
