Tender Details
Background:
Western Downs Regional Council is seeking tenders from suitably qualified contractors to design, and construct replacement filtration systems at the Miles and Wandoan Aquatic Centre's.
Miles Aquatic Centre consists of a 50m x 12m main pool and a smaller toddler's pool. The existing filters are gravity feed sand filters which are to be demolished at the end of the swim season to make way for an 8.000 x 5.500 concrete pad to house the new pressurized sand filters.
Wandoan Aquatic Centre consists of a 35m x 12m main pool and a smaller toddler's pool. The existing filtration is a steel pressurized type system
Both Aquatic Centre's where constructed in the mid 1960's. Over time both main pools have been upgraded with a fiberglass internal lining.
It is proposed to replace both filtration systems with new pressurized sand vessel type system that will be able to meet the current turnover rates, but will also be able to meet the required turnover rates in the future for regulated pool requirements.
The Miles Aquatic Centre consists of a single pump motor and it is proposed to install a secondary veritable drive motor system. This system will need to be operated to cope with the current turnover rates and future turnover rates.
Wandoan Aquatic Central consists of a single motor and it is planned to replace this motor with a new veritable drive motor system, similar to the Miles Aquatic Centre.
