RFT 2025/26-504000 (C) - Waste Collection Services
This RFT and resulting service are intended to support the TZWS by providing collection services for recycling and organic bins provided to all residents. It will allow continued success of the current domestic waste service. As such, Council is seeking the services of a suitable contractor to collect household recycling and organic bins.
Council’s Towards Zero Waste Strategy 2022-2031 (TZWS) guides sustainable waste and resource management in the city. The TZWS contains strategies for creating opportunities to improve waste avoidance and resource recovery. Specific objectives include:
• Embedding a circular economy by focusing on avoid, reuse, recycle then landfill;
• Complying with legislation including a focus on environmental management;
• Maintain ongoing value for money;
• Ensuring flexibility to respond to emerging opportunities;
• Having a high level of community engagement; and
• Ensuring local landfill capacity beyond 2037.
