T-2025-1457. Cycling Courses
The Council of the City of Sydney ("the City") invites Requests for Tender to provide Cycling Courses in accordance with this request.
Project Background
The City's Cycle Strategy and Action Plan 2018-2030 includes Action 2.2 "provide opportunities for people to build skills and capabilities" and action 2.6 "support children, school communities and families to ride safely and increase cycling participation by women". The Strategy has a target of 10% of all trips being made by bike and increasing cycling as part of the Sustainable Sydney 2030 plan.
The primary objective is to encourage cycling, by widespread roll-out of cycling confidence courses, giving sufficient confidence to people to cycle in the city for short, everyday trips or commuting and for children to ride to school or for short, everyday trips, and by increasing bicycle maintenance and cycling navigation knowledge and skills.
Project Summary
The City wishes to engage a suitable skilled organisation to deliver a specified range of cycling courses for adults and children including bike maintenance. The courses must provide a positive experience and normalise riding to encourage participants to continue riding. They should teach low-risk, responsible riding and promote positive interactions between all road users.
Tenderers must submit tenders in the manner required by this document.
The City is committed to creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses. The City encourages First Nations People owned and operated businesses, Local SME, Start-ups as well as social enterprises (including Cooperatives) to work with us and respond to this opportunity.
