T1000224 - North Beach Seawall Stage 2 (also advertised as North Wollongong Seawall Construction & North Beach Kiosk External Works)
Wollongong City Council wishes to engage a contractor for the construction of Stage 2 of North Wollongong Beach Seawall and associated concourse works. These works form the final piece of the Blue Mile, one of the cities most premier locations and a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. Along with the seawall construction, Council is also seeking the coordination of minor building repairs to the nearby Kiosk and Pavilion buildings, to improve the look and feel of the precinct.
The proposed works to the North Wollongong Seawall Construction include:
• Repair to the existing damaged Triton Mattresses
• Construction of a reinforced concrete seawall with Triton Mattress underlay
• Installation of a pedestrian promenade
• New stairways and accessible pathways
• Pavement construction
• Upgrade of lighting and electrical services
• Landscaping works including brickwork, planting and turfing
• Installation of street furniture (benches, bins, signage)
• Stormwater drainage improvements
• Site establishment and final clean-up
The associated works to the North Beach Kiosk and Pavilion include:
• External building repairs – brick repointing, flashing replacement, parapet demolition and replacement and minor internal repairs
• Drainage installation
