Q69-26. Removal of Tyres from Kelso Waste Management Centre (KWMC).
Council is seeking Quotations from suitably qualified and experienced respondents to remove waste tyres from Kelso Waste Management Centre (KWMC) EPL 12752 located at 217 Bransgrove Road, Panania and recycle / dispose of environmentally responsibly.
The tyres are collected from illegal dumping sites within the local government area and stored at Kelso under Environmental Protection Licence EPL 12752.
The license condition at the Kelso facility limits stockpiles of tyres to not exceed 200 tyres or 20 cubic meters at any time. Consequently, tyre pick-ups will occur on an ad-hoc basis, contingent upon the number of tyres received and ready for removal.
Once the storage bay approaches the 200 tyre limit, Council will promptly contact the engaged contractor. The contractor is then obligated to arrange for the removal and transportation of the tyres to another facility possessing an Environmental Protection Licence (EPL) within a 3-day timeframe.
