T-2025-1492 - Barges and Tugs Services - Sydney New Year's Eve
The City produces the annual Sydney New Year's Eve event with support from a number of government agencies. The event is one of the largest annual celebrations in the world, attracting over one million spectators along the foreshores of Sydney Harbour.
The Event comprises two main fireworks displays on Sydney Harbour and lighting and projection on the Sydney Harbour Bridge. In addition, the City operates a number of publicly accessible vantage points. Several work sites and command centres support and manage event delivery. The event occurs on 31 December each year.
The City requires the Service Provider to provide barges and tug services to enable the fireworks displays for the Event during the Term, as outlined in this Schedule 2 ("Services") and in accordance with the Key Dates.
The City will pay the Service Provider a lump sum fee for the Services for the Event in accordance with the Agreement. The Service Provider must provide all equipment, labour and consumables required to deliver the Services, in accordance with the Key Dates.
The Service Provider is engaged for 2 x two year terms (to cover the 2026/2027 Events, with an option to cover the 2028/2029 Events).
The City is committed to creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses. The City encourages First Nations People owned and operated businesses, Local SME, Start ups as well as social enterprises (including Cooperatives) to work with us and respond to this opportunity.
