T-2025-1605 - Head Contractor - Jubilee Park Amenities, Glebe
The Council of the City of Sydney ("the City") invites Requests for Tender to undertake construction work for Head Contractor - Jubilee Park Amenities, Glebe in accordance with this request.
Background:
Jubilee Park is located at 2 Northcote Road, Glebe and is Crown Land. Jubilee Oval is the main active recreation field within the Johnstons Creek Parklands, an important open space and recreational resource for locals and visitors. The public amenities are open from sunrise to sunset and are used by sporting groups and the public. The existing amenities buildings at Jubilee Oval were constructed in the 1950s. The buildings are in average condition and do not meet current standards.
Project Overview:
This project includes the demolition of three existing buildings in average condition surrounding Jubilee Oval (two amenities and a former umpire's room) and construction of one consolidated amenity building at the site of the existing West Amenities.
The project aligns with the Public Toilet Strategy 2014 and Johnstons Creek Parklands Master Plan 2013, which recommends demolishing and replace the existing amenities at Jubilee Park and Oval with new amenities.
It is anticipated that the project will be completed in two stages to allow one amenity building to remain in operation throughout the works. The Principal Contractor will develop work methodologies, a site management plan for staging works, a traffic management plan and other documentation to minimise disruption to the park and park users. Jubilee Oval must remain operational and ensure unimpeded access be provided to the park and sports field entries and viaduct tenants, including any existing accessible access routes.
Tenderers are required to demonstrate their capacity, financial and technical capability for carrying out the works as per this document and relevant specifications, while adhering to the required time frames. They must also have had previous experience in the delivery of similar scope of works and demonstrate a strong commitment to WHS, whilst embracing the City's 2030 sustainability vision and environmentally sound principles.
The City is committed to creating opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses. The City encourages First Nations People owned and operated businesses, Local SME, Start-ups as well as social enterprises (including Cooperatives) to work with us and respond to this opportunity.
