F25/969 - Wentworth Ave / Page St Intersection and Cycleway Construction
Overview of Request
Bayside Council is seeking suitably qualified contractors to deliver the construction of a new shared pedestrian and cyclist path at the intersection of Wentworth Avenue and Page Street, Pagewood (NSW). The project aims to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety, accommodate increased local development, and upgrade associated intersection infrastructure without impacting existing trees where possible.
Goods and Services Required
The Request is for the full delivery of civil works, traffic signal modifications, landscaping, and associated site preparation, including but not limited to:
- Construction of approximately 790m of new shared path across Page Street and Wentworth Avenue.
- Intersection upgrades including bicycle lanterns, bicycle crossings, crossing widening, kerb ramps, line-marking, and modifications to median islands.
- Traffic signal adjustments, installation of new lanterns, relocation of signal equipment and controller, and compliance with TfNSW signalisation requirements.
- Driveway tie-ins, kerb works, asphalt resurfacing, and service adjustments as required.
- Replacement of bus stop furniture and installation of signage and pavement markings.
- Tree planting, including installation of 18 new replacement trees and 12-month maintenance.
- Site establishment, environmental controls, protection of existing assets, surveys, investigations, and documentation (CEMP, TCPs, WHS plans, ITPs, dilapidation reports).
- Handover documentation, including Works-As-Executed drawings, certification, and surveys.
Expected Timing
Works are expected to commence upon contract award, following submission and approval of all required pre-construction documentation.
Some components - particularly intersection works and signalisation adjustments may require night works, subject to TfNSW Road Occupancy Licence (ROL) approvals.
Day works are expected to be suitable for sections along Wentworth Avenue and Page Street where permitted.
Location of Delivery / Service Delivery Requirements
All works will occur at and around the intersection of Wentworth Avenue and Page Street, Pagewood NSW, extending along both roads as described in the Scope of Works.
All services must be delivered on-site, with coordination required with Bayside Council and Transport for NSW.
