St George Region Destination Management Plan.
With the current Balonne Shire Tourism & Events Strategy expiring in 2025, Balonne Shire Council is seeking to engage an experienced consultant to deliver a refreshed St George Region Destination Management Plan (DMP). This plan will set a clear, action-driven roadmap through to 2031, ensuring the region’s tourism and events sector continues to grow sustainably and in line with community aspirations, emerging visitor trends, and economic opportunities.
The DMP will align with key regional and state frameworks, including Destination 2045 and the Outback Queensland Tourism Association’s revised DMP, while building on the strengths of the St George Region brand. It will position the region to capture future opportunities—most notably the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games - ensuring the St George Region is ready to welcome more visitors, investment, and growth.
