500.2025.0071 - Cannonvale Sewage Treatment Plant Rotary Drum Screens Component Renewal
Whitsunday Regional Council (the Principal) is seeking an experienced Contractor for:
a) The supply and installation of draining and compactor screws and associated key componentry;
b) Removal of the old screws;
c) Commissioning; and
d) Performance verification at the Cannonvale STP.
This must include:
a) The supply and installation of 2 x SS Lifting and Draining screws and associated componentry;
b) The supply and installation of a SS Collection Compactor screw and associated componentry;
c) Refurbishment of the compaction head spray water system;
d) All transport, delivery and unloading;
e) All temporary works;
f) Pre-testing; and
g) Commissioning including handover documentation.
Whitsunday Regional Council (the Principal) operates and maintains the Cannonvale Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), a 6.25ML/day facility servicing the coastal Whitsunday townships (the Site). The STP treats water to a class A standard using a Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) process ensuring high quality water for recycling and environmental release.
The screening of the primary influent at the STP is a critical operational part of the treatment process to prevent damage to the membranes in the bioreactor. The STP has dual FS Infloscreen Rotary Drum Screens which includes lifting, washing and dewatering screws with a cross-conveyor screw compactor and spray washing system.
The Principal has conducted condition assessments of the drum screens and have identified that the lifting and dewatering screw and the cross-conveyor compactor screw have deteriorated and require replacement. The replacement screws must be stainless steel (SS) to ensure a more optimal operational asset lifespan.
