We want your BIG ideas for little people!
Creation Stations are a famously fabulous feature of Cairns Children's Festival. Every year, we invite artists, inventors, tinkerers, and creative thinkers to develop and facilitate an activity that encourages children to explore, play, discover and create.
In 2026, we continue with our regular Tanks Arts Centre Creation Stations on Sunday, but are also introducing Creation Stations to the Cairns Performing Arts Centre (CPAC) on Saturday. The new addition at CPAC gives artists a larger space to facilitate activities, and we are searching for extra creative ideas to activate these spaces.

Cairns Children's Festival is the ultimate fiesta for little legends aged 12 and under. Step into our magical realm where pint-sized Picassos steal the spotlight, and families dive into a world of imagination and creativity.
Designed to nurture creativity, curiosity, and connections to both the natural world and arts and culture, Cairns Children’s Festival is a unique space for our littlest creatives to share their perspectives, ignite imaginations, and collaborate on meaningful experiences that reflect their daily lives and interests.
