Balonne CCTV Network Upgrade to Improve Community Safety
Council has received grant funding through the Queensland Government’s Secure Community Partnership Program for an upgrade to its CCTV network across the Shire.
There are currently over 130 CCTV cameras throughout the Shire and they have been pivotal in assisting Police to identify and resolve criminal activity in the Shire.
Council has worked closely with our local Police across the Shire to identify areas where upgrades will be most effective and beneficial to improve and protect community safety.
The CCTV network will involve hardware and software upgrades and AI advancements to the existing network, as well as a number of new CCTV camera locations in the Shire and additional lighting.
This project will be going out to tender in early 2026 with works expected to be completed by the middle of 2026.
