001684 - Munno Para Sportsground Construction (COP057206)
Council’s Sportsground Strategy has indicated the need for a regional sporting facility to be constructed in Munno Para. The location for this facility has been identified as part of the Playford Alive Masterplan adjacent to Mark Oliphant College on Newton Boulevard. This sports facility is intended to utilise the existing facilities of Mark Oliphant College by way of a shared use agreement and, along with new facilities, cater for Australian Rules Football, Soccer and Cricket at a minimum. The facility is intended to be delivered in multiple stages to include the following:
• Stage 1 - Construction of carpark and “kiss and drop” for use by the school and sporting facility – currently under construction. Due for completion in August 2025
• Stage 2 – Construction of a clubroom facility, single synthetic soccer pitch and multipurpose turf sports field, sports lighting, storage shed and associated landscaping.
• Stage 3 – Currently at 30% detailed design of turf soccer pitch, training 5-a-side spaces and community space/BBQ has been designed, however construction had not been planned.
Council has decided to move ahead with finishing stage 3 design and at time of writing this is being initiated. The purpose of this is to allow the potential construction of stage 3 as part of this Tender process, stage 3 will be considered as a separable portion for which council can review and decide on this stage of construction.
• Stage 2 (This Construction tender)
o Shared club room facilities including changerooms, wet areas, meeting room, referees changerooms, kitchen and kiosk facility, bar and cool room & tiered seating
o One (1) single synthetic soccer pitch and one (1) turf multi-purpose oval
o Fencing
o Pathways
o Sports Lighting
o Storage Sheds
o Soccer goals and nets to each of the soccer pitches (2 senior soccer and two junior soccer) in accordance with Football Federation South Australia (FFSA) guidelines.
o Irrigation including storage tanks and pump station & associated landscaping
• Stage 3 (Separable Portion)
o Community spaces and paths incl BBQ and Play area
o One (1) single turf soccer pitch and one (2) five a side training pitches
o Small carpark
o Lighting and landscaping.
o Public facilities.
