From studio to street: ARTBOX 2026 call out
Huon Valley Council is calling on established and emerging artists to apply to showcase their work in ARTBOX, Council’s outdoor exhibition space, as part of its 2026 program.
Located in Black Swan Park next to the Huon Valley Hub, ARTBOX brings creativity out of the gallery and into the street, featuring a new exhibition each month.
ARTBOX welcomes proposals from artists, designers, festivals, curators, community groups and cultural organisations working in all art forms.
As part of their exhibition, artists are encouraged to deliver an engagement activity with the community—such as an artist or curator talk, performance, demonstration or workshop—encouraging interaction and deeper connection with audiences.
Previous ARTBOX exhibitor and First Nations artist Amanda Pearn encouraged local creatives to seize the opportunity, saying: “It’s been an amazing opportunity to showcase artwork to a wider audience. There’s a lot of foot traffic and genuine interest from people stopping to engage. It’s a great platform for visibility and cultural connection.”
The exhibition space is provided free of charge. Applications will be assessed on their artistic concept and connection to community, with preference given to artists, makers and producers who live in, work in, or collaborate with the Huon Valley community.
