Calling all Local Artists!
Your Chance to Submit an Expression of Interest to Exhibit in Central Goldfields Art Gallery in 2026!
Central Goldfields Art Gallery is inviting local artists to provide an expression of interest to exhibit artwork in its Ramp Space as part of the upcoming 2026 exhibition program.
This is your chance to exhibit in your own local, award winning public art gallery!
Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Councillor Grace La Vella said the strength of the Shire’s unique Gallery was its diversity of exhibitions.
“It was always our intention with Central Goldfields Art Gallery to showcase local artists alongside work by nationally and internationally recognised artists. The Gallery’s three distinct exhibition spaces work really well in this way, because right now you can see the nationally acclaimed Golden Textures Contemporary Art Quilts in the Engine Room, the incredible Art of Gold from the National Gallery of Australia on display in the Cambrian Room, as well as local artist Nick Driden’s exhibition Allegories in the Ramp Space.”
“Every year we also showcase the work of VCE students from local schools in the Emergent exhibition, and it brings huge excitement to our budding artists to see their work in such a quality gallery for all to enjoy.”
“This call out for next year’s program is a way of encouraging artists from our Shire and neighbouring areas to propose exhibitions. These may include well known locally-based artists, as well as those who may be less well known or who have recently moved to the area.”
Selected artists get professional installation, a public opening and promotion as part of the annual gallery program. There is no hire fee for artists selected to have an exhibition and artists may choose to sell their work, through an arrangement with the Gallery.
This exciting opportunity is open to artists living in Central Goldfields Shire and nearby towns, as part of Central Goldfield Art Gallery’s vision to be an innovative and inclusive public art gallery for the people of Central Goldfields Shire and the surrounding area.
Central Goldfields Art Gallery is in the Old Fire Station, 1 Neill Street, Maryborough.
The Gallery is open from Thursday to Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, and entry is free.
