T26012. Waste Collection and Transport Services.
The City of Stonnington has commenced a comprehensive review of its waste management services, including the kerbside collection of general rubbish and food organics and green organics (FOGO).
Council is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from suitably qualified providers for the potential future provision of two essential waste services currently provided in-house:
1. Kerbside collection of general rubbish and FOGO for residential and non-residential properties, including direct transport to landfill or processing facilities.
2. Transport of waste materials including general rubbish and recyclables from Stonnington’s Waste Transfer Station to landfill or processing facilities.
This EOI represents the first stage of a two-stage procurement process. Stage one will assess market interest, experience, and capability. If required, stage two will invite pre-qualified respondents to participate in a Request for Tender (RFT) process.
Council is seeking innovative approaches, efficient, and sustainable delivery approaches that demonstrate operational excellence and adaptability, ensuring high-quality, reliable waste management for our dense and diverse inner-city community.
Any award of contract(s) from this procurement process will be subject to a future Council decision on the future of its waste management service in 2026.
