Open commission for art in public spaces
We are inviting local artists to reimagine public space through bold, temporary artworks in Greensborough.
Up to 4 artists will be shortlisted and receive $500 to develop their concept. We will then commission 2 artists to create original works for either Greensborough Walk or the foyer areas at 1 Flintoff Street, with each receiving $5,000 to deliver their project in 2026.
We welcome proposals in any art form that responds to the sites' unique context and invites public engagement.
What we are looking for
We are after artworks that demonstrate strong artistic merit and originality, interact and respond to the sites' unique context and engage diverse communities through inclusive and accessible approaches.
Projects could include installations, performance art, sculpture, community engaged activities, participatory performance, happenings or other temporary works.
We invite artists to see public space not just as a backdrop, but as a site of possibility where creative intervention can shift perspectives, spark dialogue or reveal what might often go unseen.
This is a chance to suggest new ways of being in public space, and we encourage you to consider how your work might spark curiosity, invite reflection or create moments of connection.
