EOI Open for Old Yarrawonga School (F3684)
Expressions of interest for the future use of the old Yarrawonga Primary School are now open.
Due to the site’s size, position and potential for ongoing community use, Moira Shire Council is anticipating strong interest from community groups and not-for-profit organisations.
Chair administrator, Dr Graeme Emonson said the council was looking for proposals that created lasting benefit for the Yarrawonga community, with opportunities for sustainable use, cultural recognition and inclusive participation.
“Council itself doesn’t have the financial capacity to acquire, upgrade and maintain the site, and therefore we’re looking for organisations to partner with who can contribute to the future revitalisation and repurposing of this important location and ensure that it serves a vital community purpose into the future,” Dr Emonson said.
“We encourage creative and sustainable ideas that make long-term contributions to the Yarrawonga community… proposals that deliver strong community outcomes, reflect local needs and respect the heritage of the site.”
The land at 2 Tom Street is owned by the Victorian Government and, with its consent, Council is inviting submissions from interested organisations for the future use of the site, including the existing buildings and open space.
