Expressions of Interest Now Open: Help Shape the Future of Narrogin’s Railway Precinct
The Shire of Narrogin is pleased to invite community members to participate in an engaging and creative “walkshop” and workshop experience, planned for September 2025. This initiative is part of the revitalisation of Narrogin’s Railway Precinct, including the new pathway, the historic Goods Shed, and surrounding public spaces.
Whether you are a long-standing resident, a local business owner, a young creative, a history enthusiast, or someone passionate about the future of Narrogin — your input is highly valued.
This community engagement initiative combines a guided walking tour (“walkshop”) with a collaborative workshop session. Participants will:
- Explore the precinct on foot, identifying opportunities and challenges within the space; and
- Participate in a hands-on workshop to contribute ideas that will inform future planning, public art, and upgrades.
No prior experience is necessary — simply bring your observations, curiosity, and local knowledge.
The event will begin with a brief introduction, followed by a guided walk through the Railway Precinct. Key locations will be visited to gather community insights on how the area could be enhanced to be more inclusive, functional, and vibrant.
After the walk, attendees will reconvene at the Narrogin & Dryandra Visitor Centre for a creative session involving idea-sharing, discussion, sketching, and voting. Light refreshments will be provided.
The event is scheduled for mid to late September 2025 (exact date to be confirmed). Participants will also have the opportunity to preview the design for the new PM706 replica artwork.
All community members are welcome, and no special skills or background are required — only an interest in Narrogin’s future and a willingness to share your ideas.
We look forward to your participation in this exciting community-led project.
