Council Approves Tender Process for Bluebush Accommodation Village
Please attribute the below information to Shire President, Malcom Cullen.
At its Special Council Meeting held on Tuesday 9 September 2025, at the Shire Chambers in Coolgardie, Council approved the tender specifications and process for the disposal of the Bluebush Accommodation Village.
The decision follows Council’s earlier resolution in June 2025 to begin preparing the necessary information to consider the sale of the facility and marks an important step in the Shire’s Financial Recovery Plan.
Shire President, Malcolm Cullen said, “the Shire will soon invite public tenders through an open and transparent process, ensuring that all interested parties have the opportunity to put forward a proposal.”
The tender process will include opportunities for site visits, and submissions will be assessed on value, experience, demonstrated understanding, and social and community value.
The process is expected to take around eight months and will include:
Public advertising of the tender,
An opportunity for public comments through a Business Plan consultation, and
Council’s final decision after reviewing the Business Plan presented.
While Council has resolved to “test the market,” there is no obligation to proceed with the sale unless Council agree that it represents the best outcome for the Shire.
Further details, including how to lodge a tender, will be made available on the Shire’s website and through official public notices in due course.
