Public art opportunity: Create a statement piece for Byford Bike Pump Track
Calling all creatives! We're inviting expressions of interest to design and create public artwork for the Byford Bike Pump Track.
The Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale is inviting expressions of interest from experienced artists to design and create public artwork for the footpath crossing at the new Byford Bike Pump Track which is being funded by the State Government.
Located at Briggs Park on Gordin Way, this exciting new recreational space will provide a hub for young people to connect with each other, practice their bike and scooter skills, and enjoy an active lifestyle.
The completed artwork will be located on the raised footpath crossing and the footpath connecting to the bike park to add some vibrancy and energy to the site.
As part of our commitment to community connection, the successful artist will be required to incorporate a collaborative element with local youth, offering them a hands-on, creative experience. This will help to inspire the final art piece.
The artwork is encouraged to draw on themes of youth, play, belonging, and the natural environment, creating a piece that will inspire and engage locals for years to come.
