RFT30/2025 (RFT 30/2025) - Construction Services (Stormwater Improvements) Bucat Street Hamilton Hill WA
The City of Cockburn (The Principal) is seeking the services of a suitably qualified, registered and experience construction contractor to undertake stormwater drainage improvements.
The proposed tender is to improve the drainage systems located in the suburb of Hamilton Hill under the Principals Drainage Improvement Works programme for FY25/26.
A heavy storm event in 2021 caused overflowing of existing drainage systems at many locations within the City, including Bucat Street, Hamilton Hill.
Bucat Street drainage improvement works incorporates a new 115m pipe drainage system along Bucat Street and within the easement of 5 Bucat Street, Hamilton Hill, connecting to the existing system in that area.
The proposed works comprise of installing stormwater drainage systems including pipes and pits.
Associated works include the removal and reinstatement of kerbs, footpaths, crossovers, and other utility services, as well as road pavement construction over drainage trenches.
The scope also includes reinstatement of reticulation and verges, garden beds, turfing and reinstatement works within the easement of 5 Bucat Street.
The Works includes, but not limited to:
a) Provide construction methodology and taking approvals from utility providers (eg Water Corporation, Western Power, ATCO Gas, etc.) for working near their assets.
b) Earthworks and minor clearing of vegetation
c) Removing redundant pavement structures and kerbing
d) Removing and disposing of construction waste to approved disposal sites
e) Construction of stormwater drainage pipes and pits
f) Water jetting and clean-up of existing pipes and pits
g) Construction of road pavement over the drainage trenches
h) Reinstating service connections to properties (as required)
i) Reinstating reticulation system
j) Milling and placing of asphalt
k) Installation of kerbing
l) Demolishing and reinstating works including driveways (within the easement), crossovers, infill areas, lawns, and irrigation in verge areas
m) Submitting “as constructed” data and documents as per City’s requirements.
The Specification is to be read in the context it is written and will be the basis upon which the Contractor is to achieve an acceptable standard and level of service.
The proposed Contract shall be in force for a period of Ten (10) weeks from the date of contract award; the Contract is expected to commence in December 2025 with construction works commencing late January 2026.
